National Endangered Skills & Trades

13-14 July

The Fitters Workshop, Kingston

The first National Endangered Skills and Trades festival is a celebration of the artisans with traditional trades. Traditional trades are not lost or gone but form the solid basis for innovation and new uses and products. Come and see bookbinders, horologists, french polishers, and lace makers in action, who are using their traditional knowledge to make new products todays. many traditional trades fall outside Australia's apprenticship training structure and we wish to raise public awareness of these fascinating trades what are still possible to learn about and train in. In a world of the same corporate products, bespoke solutions, created specifically for the customer are the way we can embrace our past and create an unique future.

Bring it in 10 days prior to the event date and we will freeze and prepare it for storage. On the day we will have a glass of champagne, look at each gown and how to box them properly so you will have access to it in the future.  $350.00 includes custom boxing, archival wrapping tissue and workshop run by Victoria Pearce.
