A specialist Textiles Conservator and the Director of Endangered Heritage Pty. Ltd.  

Victoria has a Fine Arts Degree with Honors from the Australian National University and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Conservation from the University of Canberra.  Victoria's specialisation is in textiles conservation and covers garments, headwear, embroideries, tapestries, carpets, leather and fur, in addition to preventative conservation, strategic planning and project management.  Victoria has worked as a consultant on a number of International Heritage Development projects in China and Singapore and project managed the development of the National Textiles Museum of Malaysia. She is a member of the ICOMOS-ICORP committee working to reduce the risks to our colelctive human heritage globally.

Andrew Pearce

Senior Objects Conservator

B App Sc (Cons)

 

A specialist Objects and Metals Conservator.  

Andrew, our Senior Objects Conservator originally trained as an electrical fitter and then obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science in Conservation from the University of Canberra. Andrew's specialisation covers ceramics, glass, stone, wood, indigenous artworks and multi component artifacts.  He has years of experience in the conservation of large technology objects (metal and fabric covered aircraft, vehicles and industrial electronics) gained while working for the Australian War Memorial. Currently Andrew is working away to establish greater experience in multi media formats including electronic art and sound installation work.

Frances Tait-Hallam 

Lab Manager and Ring Master


Frances has a strong background in the performing Arts in dance and teaching. She assists in japanese translation when needed and trouble shoots the day to day running of the shop. With both parents being conservators (Paper and Books, and Metals respectively), she has gained both experience and knowledge from many disciplines of conservation as well as the general running of Museums and Art Galleries. She joins the team to lead in customer service and co-ordianting the specialist supplies, orders and retail materials, as well as co-ordinating and managing the conservators and clients. Robin Tait

Senior Book and Paper Conservator

B App Sc (Cons)

 

A specialist Hand Bookbinder/Paper Conservator.  

Robin trained as a Paper Conservator at the University of Canberra before studying at the University College of the Arts, London and the Brockman Bindery, Oxford in Hand Bookbinding and Book Conservation.  Robin has worked extensively in paper and book conservation, establishing the Tait Bindery in 1986.  Robin specializes in fine hand binding, design binding and the conservation of old and rare books, as well as routine and complex paper and photographic conservation treatments.


Clare Potts

Poly Chrome and frame specialist

 

Clare joins us from the United Kingdom bring a very different training, focus and expertise from local conservators. Having worked on furniture and painted surfaces made well before Captain Cook landed on these shores Clare has bredth and experience few locally have. Her knowledge of gesso, varnish and gilding combined gives her a gift for frame conservation and her colour matching is unsupassed.
